When you are using digital or PBX type multi-line office phones, standard voice recorders will not work like they do on analog phone lines.  
   

How do I know what type of phone I have? 

You most likely have a digital or PBX type phone if one or all of the following apply:

  • You have to dial 9 or some other digitto access an outside line
  • You press a line button to access a line
  • Your phone has more than 4 lines
  • You have intercom capabilities
  • You can place a call on hold and transfer them to another extension
  • You've tried other telephone recorders and they didn't work
  • Your phone resembles the one pictured here

Simply attach the included handset adapter between your handset and the phone.  The handset adapter has a microphone cable that plugs directly into the recorder.
